Hello there, I am Alex
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it kicked off as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built BrightDuneTrail
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that void — practical guidance grounded in real life in Spain.
What this site is (and isn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on insight gained from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- An official tourism office resource
- A platform for paid reviews
- A generic travel diary
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Alex
